Morphological Characterization on White Spot Syndrome Virus(WSSV) isolated in Korea

Abstract
|
|
|
|
White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is the one of most devastating viral agent in aquaculture industry for shrimp. The world-wide incidence of WSSV has been reported since 1993, indicating the rapid transmission of virus. When the field isolate of WSSV examined by transmission electron microscopy, typical bacilliform nucleocapsids with the consistent size of 320-350㎚ in length and 70-80㎚ in width were observed in complete agreement with the other geographical isolates.
